We are pleased to announce the appointment of Richard Franklin as Head of Braemar Yacht Services, Richard takes over the role from Stefano Scarpa who has left us to pursue a challenging role with Southern Spars.
Richard started his career in the Royal Navy before coming ashore to work in the financial sector here in London and as the CEO of a clean technology company in Hong Kong. During that time his passion for sailing led him to own and charter his own yacht as well as skippering several superyachts and racing yachts for private owners. Prior to joining Braemar Yacht Services Richard had been running a successful yacht survey company out of the UK and Palma de Mallorca. During that time he has gained extensive experience in damage investigations for insurers and owners as well as pre-purchase, pre charter and project management work.
Additional to his Master’s Degree in Environmental Technology, Richard is an MCA certified large yachts captain, is an Mecal Coding surveyor, a YDSA Coding surveyor and an Accredited YDSA surveyor.
We believe that Richards’ hands on and business management experience will help drive Braemar Yacht Services into the future as the leading global service provider to the Superyacht industry.
